UMG is currently seeking an eager and exceptional systems engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering Team. The position will be responsible for technical ownership and delivery on infrastructure compute and storage infrastructure projects and for systems infrastructure aspects of Application projects. Requires a strong technical experience in servers, storage, and operating system deployment and migrations.

Job Functions:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise compute and storage solutions across on-premises and cloud environments

  • Define and own the compute and storage architecture, standards, and long-term technical strategy

  • Develop scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure designs aligned with business and operational requirements

  • Establish and maintain enterprise standards, reference architectures, and technical documentation

  • Serve as a technical liaison between business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, cloud engineering, and UMG IT

  • Review and validate proposed solutions to ensure quality, reliability, security, and compliance with UMG standards

  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations, business requirements, and final technical designs

  • Partner with cloud team to ensure interoperability, OS support, and application compatibility

  • Lead proof-of-concepts and evaluations of new compute and storage technologies

  • Participate in capacity planning, lifecycle management, and infrastructure roadmap development

  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity design and validation efforts

  • Provide Tier-4 escalation support for complex compute and storage issues, including root-cause analysis

  • Communicate technical status, risks, and dependencies clearly to peers and leadership

  • Develop and deliver technical training and mentorship for engineering and implementation teams

  • This role is focused on architecture, design, and implementation, with limited operational responsibility beyond design validation, knowledge transfer, and escalation support

Job Requirements:

Skills/Abilities:

  • Enterprise compute and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent)

  • Enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS, block and file storage solutions)

  • Infrastructure architecture and solution design in large-scale environments

  • Hybrid infrastructure design integrating on-premises systems with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Linux and Windows Server operating systems

  • Capacity planning, performance optimization, and lifecycle management

  • Disaster recovery and business continuity design

  • Infrastructure security best practices and standards

  • Technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design specifications

  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex infrastructure challenges

  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven ability to collaborate across infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams

  • Experience leading technical design discussions and influencing decisions

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Fluent in English (written and oral)

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in systems or infrastructure engineering with a focus on enterprise compute and storage platforms

  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, production-grade infrastructure solutions in complex environments

  • Hands-on experience supporting hybrid environments that integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating business requirements into technical designs

  • Experience developing enterprise architecture standards, reference designs, and technical documentation

  • Experience leading proof-of-concepts, evaluating emerging technologies, and mentoring other engineers
