Principal Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Architect based in Brazil.

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, strategic consulting, and hands-on technical leadership within a large-scale, global financial services transformation context. You will be responsible for designing and guiding the evolution of distributed, high-performance systems that support critical business operations across insurance, retirement, and asset management domains. Acting as a key bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, you will translate complex financial and organizational needs into scalable, resilient, and production-ready architectures. The role requires strong technical depth combined with the ability to navigate stakeholder dynamics and align multiple priorities into clear, executable technical roadmaps. You will also play a key role in enabling modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted software delivery. This is a high-impact position where your architectural decisions will directly influence global systems, delivery speed, and digital experience innovation. • Define and oversee end-to-end architecture for distributed systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, low latency, and global performance.
• Act as a strategic interface between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating complex needs into actionable technical solutions.
• Transform ambiguous requirements into structured technical roadmaps aligned with business priorities and delivery constraints.
• Design solutions for complex financial and enterprise-grade use cases, including real-time data processing and high-complexity systems.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern engineering practices to improve delivery efficiency and stability.
• Provide architectural guidance and mentorship, elevating both technical execution and communication across engineering teams.
• Facilitate technical decision-making discussions with stakeholders, ensuring clear trade-offs and sustainable architectural choices.
• Support continuous modernization efforts, including AI-assisted development and software delivery lifecycle improvements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in senior technical leadership or Principal Architect roles within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong background in designing and delivering distributed, scalable, and high-availability systems.
• Hands-on experience with backend development ecosystems such as Python and Java (Django, Flask, FastAPI, microservices, APIs, Spring Boot, Swagger).
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder expectations and navigate complex organizational or client environments.
• Strong understanding of system design, architecture trade-offs, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.
• Advanced English proficiency.
