Technical Documentation Engineer- Python Automation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Documentation Engineer – Python Automation based in India.

This role sits at the intersection of technical writing, structured content engineering, and automation, supporting enterprise-scale digital content ecosystems. You will design and maintain modular, reusable technical documentation using structured authoring standards while enabling intelligent content discovery and reuse. The role involves working with modern content management platforms and contributing to a Digital Asset Management environment. You will also develop Python-based automation solutions to streamline content workflows, validation, and integration processes. Operating in a highly collaborative and innovation-driven setting, you will help shape AI-ready, machine-consumable documentation. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining documentation expertise with engineering and automation to improve content scalability and efficiency across global systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain structured technical content using DITA/XML and modular authoring principles such as topics, maps, and content reuse strategies.
  • Transform complex technical information into clear, reusable, and well-organized content components optimized for enterprise use.
  • Manage full content lifecycle activities including versioning, publishing, updates, archival, and retirement within content platforms.
  • Define and maintain metadata, taxonomy, and classification structures to enhance discoverability and governance across systems.
  • Work with content management and publishing platforms (including AEM-based environments) for structured authoring and delivery workflows.
  • Build Python-based automation scripts to optimize content processing, validation, tagging, and workflow efficiency.
  • Integrate APIs and AI/LLM-based services to support advanced content operations such as summarization, retrieval, and enrichment.
  • Support content migration and ingestion activities, ensuring structural and metadata consistency across systems.
  • Ensure adherence to documentation standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for scalable content ecosystems.
  • Optimize content for searchability, reuse, and intelligent retrieval within digital asset management environments.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience in technical writing with strong expertise in DITA, XML, and structured authoring methodologies.
    • Strong proficiency in Python programming for automation, scripting, and system integration tasks.
    • Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM as a Cloud Service) and related publishing workflows.
    • Experience working with structured content delivery platforms and enterprise content management systems.
    • Familiarity with Adobe Edge Delivery Services and modern content publishing architectures.
    • Exposure to LLM APIs, AI services, or service-based integrations for content enhancement.
    • Understanding of Digital Asset Management (DAM) principles including metadata, taxonomy, and content modeling.
    • Basic knowledge of retrieval concepts such as RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
    • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and cloud/SaaS-based documentation environments.
    • Nice to have: knowledge of DITA-OT, semantic modeling, knowledge graphs, vector search, embeddings, or content quality tools (e.g., Acrolinx, Congree).
    • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work across technical and content-focused teams.
