DevOps Engineer 1
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevOps Engineer 1 based in India.
This role is a great opportunity for an early-career DevOps engineer to contribute to the reliability, scalability, and automation of cloud-based platforms used by large public-sector and enterprise systems. You will be involved in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, supporting cloud infrastructure, and improving deployment and monitoring processes in a collaborative engineering environment. The position offers exposure to modern DevOps practices including infrastructure as code, containerization, and observability at scale. You will work closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient software delivery. Accountabilities:
- Support end-to-end software delivery processes including build, deployment, release management, and environment operations in cloud and hosted systems.
- Maintain, optimize, and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient application delivery.
- Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure while supporting infrastructure-as-code practices and automation initiatives.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, analyze logs, and contribute to improving platform reliability and stability.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams to resolve technical issues and enhance deployment workflows.
- Participate in operational support and on-call rotations as needed while adhering to security and compliance standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency using modern DevOps practices.
- Foundational knowledge of DevOps concepts including CI/CD, cloud platforms, and infrastructure automation
- Basic experience with Linux/Windows systems, scripting, and version control (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with containers, monitoring, logging, and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities across technical teams

Requirements:
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with foundational knowledge of DevOps principles including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and system reliability. You should be comfortable working with Linux or Windows environments, basic scripting, version control systems, and cloud concepts. Familiarity with containers, infrastructure as code, and monitoring tools is important, along with strong debugging and problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential in a distributed engineering environment. A strong willingness to learn, take ownership, and adapt in a fast-paced setting is key to success in this role. Exposure or interest in AI-assisted operations, automation, and AIOps concepts is highly valued, including curiosity about building or using tools to improve engineering workflows.
