Accountabilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Develop cloud landing zones, networking architectures, identity and access management strategies, and multi-account environments following security best practices.
  • Implement infrastructure security controls aligned with Zero Trust principles, RMF requirements, DISA STIGs, FedRAMP, and DoD Cloud Computing standards.
  • Build and optimize cloud-native services, including compute, storage, databases, Kubernetes platforms, and serverless technologies.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration management, compliance, and security enforcement using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design logging, monitoring, observability, and incident response capabilities while maintaining platform reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to deliver secure cloud solutions that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, mentoring junior engineers, supporting production incidents, and driving cloud engineering best practices.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
    • 8+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering, including at least 5 years of hands-on AWS experience in production environments.
    • Strong expertise with AWS services including IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Route 53, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, KMS, and networking services.
    • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation, along with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef.
    • Solid understanding of cloud security, Zero Trust architecture, encryption, identity management, compliance frameworks, and government security standards including RMF, NIST, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP.
    • Experience designing Kubernetes-based platforms, cloud networking, observability solutions, SIEM integrations, and incident response processes.
    • Relevant certifications such as Security+, AWS Professional certifications, CISSP, CASP+, CKA, or CKS are highly valued.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, documentation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
    • U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
