This Senior PCA Engineering Manager is responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team of sub-ordinate managers and individual contributors, while applying expert subject matter knowledge. The role acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. The role plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of the employees, and engages with a range of stakeholders to provide program updates and contributes to strategic decision-making. The role identifies opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs, aligning changes with business goals.

What a Senior PCA Engineering Manager does at HP

  • Guides the team towards established vision, strategy and priorities for electronic/hardware solutions., across multiple areas and divisional boundaries.

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for subordinate managers and individual contributors, designing engineering solutions and managing projects for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms.

  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs.

  • Ensures resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.

  • Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.

  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.

  • Ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources; supports commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.

  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge, shapes knowledge base across businesses, functions, or regions, and provides strong leadership, driving change initiatives and monitoring performance goals.

  • Performs talent and people management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.

  • Ensures that proper knowledge, performance standards and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Min 10 years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.
