About the role
You will lead a distributed team of data engineers who build and operate these ETL pipelines. You own the ingestion roadmap, prioritize across source-system owners and data consumers, and ensure the data landing in BigQuery is trustworthy, well-modeled and easy to consume.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the team: manage, coach and grow a distributed team of data engineers; run sprint planning and delivery cadence; own hiring and performance.
  • Own the ingestion roadmap: translate source-system and consumer needs into prioritized pipeline deliverables; run intake from source-system owners (SAP, Salesforce, Workday, OneStream, platform APIs).
  • Deliver clean, usable BigQuery datasets: enforce the zone model, consistent naming, partitioning and modeling (OBT, star schema); set data-quality gates at ingestion and data contracts with consumers.
  • Drive engineering practices: own CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code standards, and the Architectural Decisions process.
  • Operate the platform: own observability, incident response, the support/SLA model, and GCP cost governance.
  • Manage stakeholders: be the single point of contact for source-system owners and downstream data consumers; honor EU data-locality constraints.
  • What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years in data/analytics engineering, with experience leading a data engineering team.
  • Proven delivery on Google Cloud: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Composer/Airflow, Dataform (or dbt-equivalent).
  • Strong grasp of ELT/ETL design, multi-zone lake/warehouse architectures, dimensional & OBT modeling, and data-quality frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience ingesting from ERP/CRM/HR systems (SAP, Salesforce, Workday) and REST APIs.
  • Product/roadmap chops: backlog management, prioritization across stakeholders, clear requirements; Jira/Confluence fluency.
  • Solid SQL; comfortable reading Python pipelines; Git-based CI/CD (Bitbucket/GitHub).
  • Nice-to-have
  • Background supporting Finance analytics (AP/AR, trial balance, master data, FX).
  • Exposure to ad-tech platform APIs (Meta/TikTok/Google/Spotify).
  • Dataflow/Dataproc for heavier workloads; Datastream/CDC for real-time ingestion.
  • GDPR and EU data-locality awareness.
  • How you work
  • Outcome-oriented — measured by datasets delivered and trusted, not tickets closed.
  • Comfortable as both product voice and technical escalation point.
  • Bias toward clear documentation, naming and contracts over tribal knowledge.
  • In line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, we are committed to fair and open compensation practices. For this role, the minimum gross annual base salary is EUR 55,000 EUR.

In addition to base salary, this role includes a variable component, paid annually. The final offer will reflect your experience, skills, and the scope of the role.
