Controller- Chicago Stamping Plant

Ford Motor Company · Chicago Heights, IL

Are You Ready to Shape the Future of Manufacturing?

At Ford’s Chicago Stamping Plant, we don't just bend steel—we build the backbone of American transportation. Our facility stamps the high-quality sheet metal for the Ford Explorer and the Ford Transit, two of the most iconic and successful vehicles in the Ford portfolio.

Finance strategically partners with operations to drive outstanding business results and enhance Ford’s industry leadership. When you join us, you’ll be able to contribute financial expertise that impacts all areas of our company, including planning, manufacturing, marketing and global distribution.

In this position...

We are seeking a high-energy, visionary Plant Controller to lead a dynamic finance team and serve as the primary financial co-pilot to our plant leadership. This is not a 'behind-the-desk' accounting role. We want a dynamic business partner and change agent who can translate complex financial data into real-time operational strategies, influence key decision-makers, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. If you are passionate about modernizing finance, leveraging cutting-edge data tools, and driving profitability on a massive scale, we want to hear from you.

Why This Role is Exciting:

  • Direct Business Impact: You will have a seat at the table with the Plant Operating Committee, helping define the strategy to deliver vehicle volume and eliminate waste.
  • Modernization Champion: You will have the creative freedom to introduce new technologies (like Alteryx, Python, and Power BI) to automate processes and modernize both plant operations and the controller’s office.
  • Leadership & Visibility: Lead, mentor, and inspire a talented finance team while presenting critical financial insights directly to executive leadership.

What you'll do...

  • Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate directly with the Plant Operating Committee (OCM) to present the cost operating system, model business changes, and educate operational partners on real-time financial decision-making.
  • Financial Architecture: Lead the development, deployment, and management of the plant’s budget, monthly forecasts, and close processes, ensuring robust internal controls are seamlessly maintained.
  • Profitability & Waste Elimination: Build compelling business cases to uncover cost-saving opportunities and design actionable cost roadmaps that aggressively eliminate operational waste.
  • Commercial Drive: Actively pursue cost recoveries from suppliers to mitigate financial impacts from part shortages and incoming quality issues.
  • Digital Transformation: Discover, champion, and implement modern data tools and technologies to streamline workflows and modernize the finance function.

Key Skills You Will Develop in This Role:

  • Executive-level Strategy & Business Case Development
  • Advanced Manufacturing Cost Management & Corporate Accounting
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork & High-Impact Business Partnering
  • Advanced Analytics & Digital Automation (Alteryx, Power BI, etc.)

You'll have...

  • MBA, with a focus in Finance or Accounting.

  • 5+ years of Experience as a Controller.

  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders.

  • Analytical Rigor: Excellent analytical ability, high attention to detail, and a proven track record of data-driven decision-making.

  • Mindset: A self-starter and quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Even better you'll have...

  • Experience with modern system tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, PowerApps, Python, or Google Cloud Platform.

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage.
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more.
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more.
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases.
  • Tuition assistance.
  • Established and active employee resource groups.
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service.
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.
