In this position... 

The Business Operations Analyst for Underbody Systems Engineering (UnSE) serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all material spend within the organization. This high-visibility role also acts as a dedicated Business Office Analyst for a Chief Engineer, ensuring that engineering decisions are optimized for cost and supported by real-time data.

The position is responsible for the end-to-end financial health of UnSE programs, bridging the gap between technical engineering execution and financial accountability. The Business Operations Analyst provides the critical expertise necessary to deliver precise forecasts and maintain budget adherence across a large-scale engineering organization.

  • What you'll do...
  • Business Operations Analyst: Track all of engineering and build prototype costs and timing. Key member of Externals Process, Prototype build PAT as well as UnSE global coordinator. Support weekly meetings
  • Publish required Monthly Finance Forecast, Prototype build counts and costs, compile System/Chief based report out by GPID on budget vs spend vs forecast
  • Own GPID process, track changes to cycle plan and publish changes to team. Request activation of GPIDs in timely manner.
  • Align Hyperion (Budget) vs GPRR Cycle Plan Milestone process. Follow up with planners as necessary for misaligned GPIDs or underfunded programs. 
  • Track monthly new GPIRs/Aurora tooling and material orders, follow accruals and flag issues and errors to Finance and management.
  • Support cancellation process, tracking costs and adjusting forecast as information is made available.
  • Support EZ budget tool as used by powertrain activities for external build budget tracking
  • Provide training and guidance to engineering teams on budget processes and requirements. 
  • Support Lead Budget analyst in other areas of expense as required

     

  • You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience supporting automotive product development process
  • 3+ years of experience with MS office, especially Excel
  • 3+ years of experience in resource management and cycle planning

  • Flexibility and adaptability in roles and responsibilities, positive outlook and willingness to support a large-scale engineering organization while delivering top quality assignments.
  • Hyperion and GPIRS experience preferred
  • Ability to oversee and lead complex budgetary disconnects to resolution

  • This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.     
  • Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
