Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), APAC China Cluster, FP&A International, located in Chiyoda, Japan.

The Senior Financial Analyst, APAC China Cluster, FP&A International plays a key role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, and performance management for the APAC China Cluster. This role partners closely with regional and functional leaders to deliver high‑quality financial insights, enable data‑driven decision‑making, and support delivery of business objectives. The position offers strong exposure to international finance operations within a global MedTech organization and the opportunity to influence business performance in a dynamic, high‑growth region. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range planning processes for the APAC China Cluster. 

  • Prepare and analyze financial results, including P&L performance, variance analysis, and key performance indicators. 

  • Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to understand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities. 

  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business initiatives, investments, and strategic decisions. 

  • Support month‑end close activities by reviewing results, ensuring data accuracy, and explaining variances to plan and prior periods. 

  • Provide clear and concise financial insights and presentations for senior management and regional leadership. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of FP&A processes, reporting tools, and standard methodologies across the region. 

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and governance requirements. 

Qualifications 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (required). 

  • Master’s degree or MBA (preferred). 

Experience and Skills: 

Required: 

  • Typically 4–6 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or related finance roles. 

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management. 

  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail. 

  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders. 

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting or planning systems. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, international environment. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience supporting APAC or China regional finance organizations. 

  • Exposure to MedTech, healthcare, or other regulated industries. 

  • Experience with financial modeling and business case development. 

  • Familiarity with ERP and planning tools (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, OneStream, or similar). 

  • Progress toward or completion of a professional finance qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA). 

Other: 

  • Language: Fluent in English; proficiency in Japanese and/or Mandarin is strongly preferred. 

  • Travel: Up to 15% international travel, as business needs require. 

  • Certifications: Professional finance or accounting certification preferred.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
