Valuation Manager – Treasury & Financial Risk Management (m/f)

PwC · Bratislava

Job Description & Summary

Our Treasury & Financial Risk Management team is a growing advisory team at PwC Slovakia, combining valuation expertise, treasury know-how, financial risk management and increasingly also technology-driven treasury solutions.

We work on a broad mix of projects: from business valuations, impairment testing, purchase price allocation, valuation of financial instruments, derivatives, debt securities and options, as well as hedging strategies, market risk and treasury advisory. We are also expanding into Treasury Management Systems, treasury process automation and data-driven solutions, helping clients modernise their treasury function.

A key part of our work is focused on business valuations, DCF modelling and complex financial modelling. We support clients with company and asset valuations for financial reporting, transaction-related and strategic decision-making purposes. This includes analysing business plans and value drivers, building and reviewing DCF models, preparing valuation models, deriving WACC and discount rates, working with market multiples and supporting complex valuation matters such as impairment testing and purchase price allocation.

The team you will join:

You will join a team of junior and senior professionals who work closely together across valuation, treasury and financial risk projects. We are the kind of team that shares know-how openly, supports each other when projects get demanding and pulls in the same direction to deliver work we can be proud of. Our strength is in combining technical expertise with a practical mindset, strong ownership and the ability to turn complex topics into clear solutions for our clients.

Where will you make an impact?

And this is where you come in: an experienced Valuation Manager (m/f) who wants to be part of what comes next. Someone who will not only lead complex valuation projects primarily focused on business valuations and impairment tests, but also help shape the future of our valuation and treasury services together with us.

You will:

  • Lead valuation projects for local and international clients, including business valuations, impairment testing and purchase price allocation

  • Challenge financial models, assumptions and valuation methodologies

  • Apply valuation approaches such as DCF, market approach, option pricing models and other relevant techniques

  • Support audit teams on complex valuation, financial instruments and treasury-related matters

  • Cooperate with PwC offices abroad on international engagements

  • Perform and review valuations of financial instruments, derivatives, debt securities, options, shares and other assets

  • Turn complex valuation and risk topics into clear insights for clients

  • Coach junior colleagues and support their professional development

  • Help grow our valuation and treasury offering

  • Contribute to projects related to Treasury Management Systems, process automation and data-driven treasury solutions

What will help you succeed in this role?

This role is for someone who already has solid valuation experience and is ready to take broader ownership: not only over valuation analyses, but also over projects, client relationships, junior team members and the further development of our valuation offering.

  • 5+ years of experience in valuation, financial modelling, financial advisory, audit, deals or related advisory services

  • Strong hands-on experience with business valuations, impairment testing and purchase price allocation

  • Advanced experience with DCF models, valuation modelling, business plan analysis and WACC / discount rate derivation

  • Solid understanding of valuation methodologies, including income approach, market approach, market multiples, terminal value, sensitivity analyses and scenario modelling

  • Experience with valuations prepared for financial reporting, transaction support, strategic decision-making or internal management purposes

  • Experience with financial instruments valuation is an advantage, especially derivatives, debt securities, options or shares

  • Proven ability to manage engagements, coordinate workstreams, lead teams and deliver high-quality outputs under deadlines

  • Confidence in client communication, stakeholder management and presenting valuation conclusions

  • Experience with mentoring junior colleagues and reviewing their work

  • Commercial mindset and willingness to contribute to client relationship building, proposals and business development

  • Professional working proficiency in English, minimum B2 level

What would make your profile stand out:

  • Experience with IFRS standards, especially IAS 36, IFRS 9 and IFRS 13

  • Complex valuation topics such as purchase price allocation, impairment testing, fairness opinions or independent valuation reviews

  • Advanced financial modelling, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, valuation of synergies or complex business plans

  • Tools such as Refinitiv, Capital IQ, Bloomberg or similar platforms

  • German language skills
