Job Description
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our Pricing and Commercial Operations teams use data and insight to support better commercial decisions. This role will help strengthen our pricing analytics and statistical modelling capability, supporting decisions across products, customers, markets, and segments.
Role purpose
The Pricing Analyst will turn pricing, customer, product, transaction, and market data into clear insight. The role is suited to someone with strong quantitative skills who enjoys statistical analysis, modelling, data validation, automation, and communicating findings to commercial stakeholders.
How you will make an impact
- Analyze pricing, customer, product, and market data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers.
- Build and improve pricing models, forecasts, segmentation analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenarios to support commercial decisions.
- Develop repeatable reporting, data validation, and analytical workflows using Excel, Power Query, Python, SQL, and BI tools.
- Support monthly and quarterly price forecasting, variance analysis, and commercial performance reviews.
- Assess pricing effectiveness, promotion impact, win/loss trends, customer behaviour, margin movement, and market dynamics.
- Create clear dashboards, models, and visualizations that translate complex analysis into practical recommendations.
- Partner with Commercial, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and Analytics teams to support evidence-based pricing decisions.
- Document key assumptions, data definitions, methodologies, and process controls to support consistency and scalability.
How you will get here
Education and experience
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field; or a bachelor’s degree with approximately 2+ years of relevant analytics, pricing, commercial operations, finance analytics, or data science experience.
- Experience working with large datasets and applying analytical or statistical methods to business, commercial, or research problems.
- Exposure to pricing, forecasting, revenue management, marketing analytics, commercial analytics, or finance analytics is preferred but not essential.
Technical capabilities
- Strong Excel skills, ideally including Power Query.
- Python capability for data analysis and modelling, ideally including pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of statistical modelling, forecasting, segmentation, optimization, model validation, sensitivity analysis, and back testing.
- Ability to diagnose data quality issues, test assumptions, and explain analytical limitations clearly.
- SQL, Power BI, SAP, Cognos, Git, or similar tools are advantageous.

- Commercial curiosity and the ability to connect analysis to pricing, margin, growth, customer behaviour, and business performance.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving discipline, and comfort working through ambiguity.
- Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative working style across Commercial, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and Analytics teams.
- Personal accountability, openness to feedback, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
