This role involves managing bodily injury and liability claims from initial contact through to resolution, ensuring fair, timely, and well-documented settlements. You will work in a remote environment handling a diverse portfolio of claims while conducting thorough investigations, assessing damages, and determining appropriate reserves. The position requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to interpret complex information, including legal and medical documentation. You will act as a key point of contact for claimants and policyholders, ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the claims lifecycle. The role also involves negotiation, decision-making, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure accurate claim outcomes. This is a fast-paced position suited to professionals who combine technical claims expertise with strong interpersonal skills.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage bodily injury and liability claims from initial reporting through investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
  • Conduct detailed investigations to determine cause of loss and provide clear recommendations to clients.
  • Assess damages, establish claim reserves, and define appropriate action plans based on exposure analysis.
  • Communicate regularly with policyholders, claimants, and stakeholders to ensure timely updates and resolution.
  • Negotiate fair and equitable settlements while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Interpret legal, medical, and technical documentation to support accurate claims evaluation and decision-making.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service throughout the claims lifecycle, including after-hours support when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using claims management systems and supporting technologies.
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience handling bodily injury and/or liability insurance claims.
    • Completion of high school education; post-secondary education in insurance or related fields is an asset.
    • Valid Level 1 adjuster license in Alberta.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and numerical information.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive).
    • Ability to manage multiple claims in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and customer-focused mindset.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including pursuit of CIP designation.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accountability and accuracy.
