Business Applications Analyst - FP&A

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Applications Analyst – FP&A based in the United States.

This is a highly visible finance and data-focused role sitting at the intersection of FP&A, analytics, and enterprise systems. You will play a key part in transforming financial data into actionable insights that directly support forecasting, reporting, and strategic decision-making. Working closely with finance leaders, analysts, and IT teams, you will help shape and optimize the financial data ecosystem within a modern enterprise data warehouse environment. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending financial acumen with technical expertise and thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven setting. You will contribute to automation initiatives, dashboard development, and process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency across the FP&A function. This position offers strong exposure to both business strategy and technical architecture, with real impact on how financial insights are delivered across the organization.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced financial dashboards and reporting solutions, primarily using Power BI, to support FP&A processes and executive decision-making.
  • Leverage enterprise data warehouse capabilities (including Microsoft Fabric) to build scalable data models and improve financial reporting workflows.
  • Automate manual financial processes to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen the accuracy of forecasting and reporting cycles.
  • Partner with FP&A teams to analyze financial results, variances, and trends, translating data into meaningful business insights.
  • Serve as the liaison between Finance and IT/Data Engineering teams, supporting system enhancements, data integration, and platform optimization initiatives.
  • Document business requirements, financial definitions, and technical logic to ensure consistency and transparency across reporting frameworks.
  • Support data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance processes to ensure integrity and reliability of financial reporting outputs.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
    • 5–10 years of experience in finance, FP&A, business applications, or data-focused financial roles.
    • Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards in Power BI for business-facing financial reporting.
    • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, ideally including Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms.
    • Solid understanding of FP&A processes, financial modeling, and core business performance metrics.
    • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
    • Proven ability to automate reporting processes and improve financial data workflows.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial needs into technical solutions and vice versa.
    • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across both finance and technology teams.
    • Self-driven mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
