Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a HR Specialist, located in Bogotá Distrito Capital, Colombia. 

The HR Specialist supports the Business Unit Human Resources (BUHR) team by delivering day‑to‑day HR services that enable business performance and employee experience. This role partners closely with HR colleagues and business leaders to execute core people processes, support workforce initiatives, and ensure compliance with company policies and local labor requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong HR foundation while contributing to a dynamic MedTech organization with meaningful impact on patients and healthcare systems. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the execution of core HR processes including onboarding, employee data changes, performance cycles, and offboarding activities. 

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, escalating complex matters as appropriate. 

  • Assist BUHR partners with workforce planning, talent management, and organizational initiatives. 

  • Coordinate HR programs and initiatives such as engagement activities, learning programs, and communications. 

  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity across HR systems. 

  • Support compliance with local labor laws, internal policies, and audit requirements. 

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and basic analyses to support HR decision‑making. 

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, and other HR teams. 

 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Preferred: Postgraduate coursework or certification in Human Resources or Labor Relations. 

Experience and Skills 

Required: 

  • 4–5 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a related administrative/business role. 

  • Foundational knowledge of HR processes and employment practices. 

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience supporting HR operations in a matrixed or multinational organization. 

  • Exposure to HR information systems (e.g., Workday or similar platforms). 

  • Basic understanding of Colombian labor law and HR compliance practices. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with employees and managers. 

Other: 

  • Languages: Spanish (fluent); English (intermediate level preferred). 

  • Travel: Minimal; occasional local travel may be required. 

  • Certifications: HR‑related certifications are a plus but not required.
