Talent Manager
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Talent Manager based in South Africa.
This role is focused on building and managing a high-performing pipeline of creative talent to support large-scale performance marketing and content production initiatives. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding top-tier creators, designers, editors, and strategists who directly contribute to high-impact ad campaigns and brand growth. The environment is fast-paced, data-informed, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on creative quality and performance outcomes. You will work closely with creative leadership to anticipate talent needs and ensure the right profiles are matched to the right projects at the right time. This role combines recruitment expertise with creative intuition, requiring a sharp eye for talent and strong communication skills. It is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, content-driven ecosystems and enjoys working at the intersection of creativity, marketing, and talent strategy.
Accountabilities:
- Source, identify, and shortlist high-quality creative talent including editors, designers, strategists, and UGC creators.
- Conduct screening and briefing calls to evaluate skills, communication ability, and cultural fit.
- Build and maintain a structured, long-term talent pipeline to support ongoing and future campaign needs.
- Collaborate with creative leadership to define hiring priorities and address talent gaps.
- Manage end-to-end talent acquisition processes, from outreach and evaluation to onboarding.
- Maintain organized talent databases and trackers using spreadsheets and sourcing tools.
- Ensure quality control of submitted creative work to meet brand and campaign standards.
- Stay updated on creative industry trends and evolving talent benchmarks.
- Deliver a smooth, professional candidate experience throughout the hiring journey.
- Utilize sourcing platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, Casting Networks, Billo, and similar tools to identify top talent.
- 2+ years of experience in talent management, creative recruitment, influencer partnerships, or a related role.
- Proven ability to identify and hire strong creative talent in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Strong communication skills with confidence in conducting candidate interviews and evaluation calls.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple pipelines simultaneously.
- Experience working closely with creative, marketing, or performance-driven teams.
- Strong ability to assess both technical creative skills and soft skills such as communication and cultural fit.
- Familiarity with reviewing creative portfolios, reels, and case studies.
- Experience using freelance and talent sourcing platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, Casting Networks, and similar.
- Strong understanding of creative production environments, ideally within agency or DTC ecosystems.
- Ability to operate independently in a remote, contractor-based setup aligned with EST working hours.
- Competitive monthly compensation between USD $1,200–$1,800 depending on experience.
