Fixed Income Analyst

The SPG Team is seeking a Fixed Income Analyst to join our Budapest-based team, supporting SPG leadership and the COO function through business planning, analytical problem-solving and delivery of priority initiatives across a fast-moving environment.

The Fixed Income Division (“FID”) is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products, Securitized Products, Commodities and Municipal Securities 

Morgan Stanley’s Securitized Products Group (“SPG”) is a market leader across the complex securitized products landscape, providing asset-backed trading and financing solutions to a diverse client base across Commercial & Residential Real Estate, Corporates, and other assets classes. 

The EMEA SPG COO team works closely with the Global COO Team, SPG Management (including Desk Heads), and partners with Finance, Operations, Technology and other functions across the Firm. The team is responsible for strategy and business development across SPG. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a keen interest in strategy and financial markets.

What you’ll do in the role: 

  • Business Strategy & Analytics: Support strategy discussions and perform analysis of the SPG book’s key metrics, KPIs  and present them to SPG Management with insights. Requires the ability to analyze complex information and synthesize into digestible presentations to aid Senior Management's strategic decision making. 

  • Executive Management Support: Working with Desk Heads to prepare materials for senior forums and committee meetings. Requires attention to detail and the ability to deliver in a timely manner. 

  • Business Initiative Execution: Drive priority initiatives working with functional partners and SMEs (e.g. review of deal returns, review of unique deal structural features, new product development, revenue planning, capital analysis). Requires the ability to think creatively and strategically in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. 

  • Coordination & Partnership: Coordinating across internal business partners including Finance, Operations, Technology, and other functions. Requires good networking skills and eagerness to learn about how a bank works across all functions. 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • BSc or higher degree (e.g. Finance, Economics) 

  • Candidate preferred to have at least one internship in a Finance OR Management Consulting-related field. Interest in Fixed Income / financial markets required 

  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and strong quantitative, analytical, and modelling skills 

  • Strong organizational / time management and project management skills with an attention to detail 

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mind set  

  • Proficiency in English across written & oral language skills  

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a team environment
