We are currently looking for a

Communications Manager (M/F)

based in Krapkowice.

What is the job that awaits you?

You will be part of a pan-European communications team of five Communications Managers across Sweden, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Finland, working as a network. Led by the VP of Communications at our Finnish headquarters, it’s a team that exchanges expertise and collectively shapes how Metsä Tissue communicates across the continent.

You will work as both a strategic lead and a skilled implementer. Each member of the network drives chosen strategic communications project for the whole organization, giving you real ownership and European-level visibility, while also localizing and implementing projects championed by colleagues in other markets.

At country level, you will be responsible for the full scope of internal and external communications: intranet, newsletters, digital channels, events, media relations, crisis communications and executive communications support for the VP Operations, as well as developing and implementing mill-level employer branding in close collaboration with HR.

Digital communications moves fast, and we expect you to move with it. Beyond executing with quality, you will continuously evaluate and develop your ways of working, identifying smarter tools, more effective formats and better processes, and bring that thinking actively into the team.

We are at an early and exciting stage of integrating AI into our communications work. If you have hands-on experience with LLMs and AI-assisted content creation and translation, and want to build something rather than follow an existing playbook, this is that opportunity.

What are we expecting of you?

Strong writing is a given, but you think in the full palette: text, visuals, video, data. You understand the digital environments your content lives in, platform logic, algorithms, channel behavior, because the best content in the wrong format or the wrong channel delivers nothing.

You are comfortable with corporate communications platforms and the broader tool set of a modern communications professional: content management systems, analytics, media intelligence, visual and video production. You don’t need to master every tool on day one, but you need to be the kind of person who figures them out and then asks what comes next.

You have a degree in communications or other relevant field, and experience in communications, internal, external, or both. Additionally, experience from an international or manufacturing environment is seen as an advantage.

You write well in English and Polish, and you have led cross-functional projects and built communications strategies that connect to business targets.

Why Metsä?

Metsä Tissue is in an active growth phase across Europe, and communications is not a support function here, it’s part of how we execute strategy.

Our Nordic roots show in how we lead: with openness, trust and a genuine interest in developing the people around us. You will be given responsibility and the space to grow into it.

As part of a pan-European communications network, your work has reach well beyond Krapkowice. You will collaborate across five markets, contribute to organization-wide projects, and build a professional network across the continent, all while being rooted in a local role with real operational impact.

This role is anchored in Krapkowice, with three days a week on-site at the mill and 2 days remote. If you live within a reasonable commute and are ready to be genuinely present, we'd like to hear from you.
