KTVB is seeking an innovative Associate Producer to shape our daily lifestyle show. At Idaho Today we build creative shows that engage, educate and inform our audiences. We prioritize original storytelling and client collaboration as key components of our Lifestyle format to set our station apart. We value a collaborative writer/producer/marketer who works well as part of a team to bring a wide variety of content to our audience across our streaming, social and broadcast platforms.
In this role, the Associate Producer will produce content in the studio and field environments, assist in the planning of the show through booking guests, researching, writing, making graphics, editing video and more. The Associate Producer should understand "what’s trending" in everything from entertainment to wellness to local business and newsmakers. The ideal candidate for this role can successfully merge content with commerce, helping Idaho Today’s sponsors showcase their products and services in a way that feels organic and compels engagement from viewers.

It’s where celebrities, top chefs, entertainers, entrepreneurs, authors, local doctors, business and community leaders, lifestyle experts and more, come to share their passion through in-depth conversation and demonstration. Idaho Today is often a key element in comprehensive advertiser sponsorships and promotions designed to drive results and engagement for clients and their brands.
In This Role, You Will
• Produce entertaining and informative segments for Idaho Today, including sponsor paid segments.
• Source, contact, and book clients and guests for the show. Prioritize local unique features to air on streaming, broadcast, web and social platforms that feature businesses and community events.
• Work with the sales department and clients to successfully meet their business needs, guiding them toward good content decisions and coaching them on best practices for TV.
• Pre-interview guests, research topics/guests and provide Host and staff with research materials.
• Pitch and craft stories of all lengths on all platforms - incudes writing for web and social.
• Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience.
• Produce sponsored local specials and assist with station/community promotions.
• Meet daily deadlines and work well under tight deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Sales Responsibilities:
• Work with the Executive Producer and Sales team to create and update sales materials related to Idaho Today and sponsorships.
• Help provide best-in-class customer service including greeting clients and guests, prepping them for appearances and managing customer experience.
• Follow up with clients and guests after segments by sharing content links, clips and airtimes. Connecting them back with Sales team for additional opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales teams to come up with creative ways to connect show content with sponsors (giveaways, seasonal features, etc.)
• Assist with organizing giveaways and client paperwork, assuring all station and FCC guidance is met.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in media or related field (or related experience)
• Producing experience preferred
• Strong creative writing skills with an emphasis on conversational, engaging storytelling
• Experience working with sponsors, clients and/or sales
• Organized and able to manage multiple calendars, projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong social media skills
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
• ENPS and Edius system experience preferred
• Basic mobile photography and video editing skills
• Experience working with Smartsheets (or other project management tools)
• Experience line producing/control room experience on a live or live-to-tape production
