Technical Writer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Writer based in Switzerland.

As a Technical Writer, you will play a key role in transforming complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation that supports both internal teams and external users. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and QA specialists to ensure that technical information is accurately captured and effectively communicated. Working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, you will contribute to documentation across APIs, system logic, integrations, and user workflows. This role offers the opportunity to shape documentation standards, improve knowledge accessibility, and enhance the overall product experience through high-quality technical content. You will be part of a collaborative, innovation-focused team where clarity, precision, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

Accountabilities

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve clear, structured, and user-focused technical documentation across products and systems.
  • Analyze technical requirements, specifications, APIs, and system behavior to produce accurate and reliable documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather, validate, and clarify technical information.
  • Document APIs, integrations, system workflows, configuration rules, error handling, edge cases, and release-related changes.
  • Review and enhance existing documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, readability, and alignment with internal standards.
  • Participate in technical reviews, peer reviews, and documentation planning sessions to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation standards, templates, style guides, terminology, and best practices.
  • Support knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to improving documentation processes across teams.
  • Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar documentation-focused role.
    • Proven experience creating both user-facing documentation and developer-focused content (e.g., guides, manuals, API documentation).
    • Familiarity with documentation platforms such as Confluence, Notion, Document360, or similar tools.
    • Experience working with project management tools such as Jira or Trello.
    • Basic skills in using visual or screenshot tools (e.g., Snagit, Lightshot, PickPick) to enhance documentation clarity.
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and how technical teams operate.
    • Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
    • Excellent attention to detail and consistency in writing and terminology.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large volumes of technical information.
    • Intermediate or higher level of English proficiency.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams as well as work independently.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documentation priorities.
