Senior Process Engineer

Intel Ireland process engineering departments are looking for Process/Equipment Engineering talent to join our advanced technology fab. As a Process/Equipment Engineer, you will focus on delivering a robust and efficient semiconductor manufacturing process with data driven analytics and systematic problem-solving skills.


The successful candidate will work as a Process/Equipment Engineer on Intel leading edge technology nodes, partnering with engineers from various disciplines and other departments as well as integrated module teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Own and continuously improve process performance within your assigned module or area.

  • Support the development, qualification, and transfer of new process/automation technologies into High Volume Manufacturing.

  • Drive process optimization to achieve targets in safety, quality, yield, output, and cost.

  • Use statistical analysis, data analytics, and structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes, reduce variability, and improve process capability.

  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex process issues in partnership with equipment, manufacturing, quality, and module engineering teams.

  • Drive defect reduction, yield improvement, and process matching across tools and work centres.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-site teams to implement process improvements and share best practices.

  • Partner closely with manufacturing and equipment engineering teams to improve tool performance, process stability, and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to the implementation of automation solutions that improve process control, productivity, and manufacturing robustness.

  • Support technology ramp, process change management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the fab.

  • Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute technical expertise to team development.

Qualifications:

To be initially considered for this position, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of industrial experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related high-technology manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following process areas: Deposition, Lithography, Etching, Ion Implantation, Annealing, or Chemical Mechanical Planarization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to drive technical decisions and process improvements.

  • Experience in process troubleshooting, process control, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple engineering and operations teams.

  • Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.


Preferred qualifications. The following would be an advantage:

  • A PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

  • Post-doctoral research experience in a relevant technical field.

  • Experience in advanced semiconductor process integration or high-volume manufacturing at leading-edge technology nodes.

  • Strong automation knowledge, including experience with manufacturing automation, process control systems, scripting, data automation, or digital solutions in a fab or industrial setting.

  • Familiarity with statistical process control, design of experiments, FMEA, root cause analysis, and other structured engineering methodologies.

  • ​Experience driving cross-functional improvement projects with measurable impact on yield, quality, cost, or output.

  • Familiarity with data automation tools or custom scripts used to extract, clean, and analyze manufacturing data (Python, SQL, MATLAB, R, VBA, Shell scripting, BASH)

  • Knowledge of defect reduction strategies, process matching, and manufacturability improvement.

  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical workstreams within a team environment.

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry.

Annual Salary Range for this job which could be performed in Ireland is: € 71.300,00 - € 111.300,00

The compensation range displayed in this posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, and relevant education, training. As part of our total compensation approach, the final offer may include additional pay components and benefits. Your recruiting team will share the confirmed base salary along with any applicable total compensation elements upon employment offer delivery.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
