What this job involves:
As the Regional Operations Director (ROD) for the Telstra Account, you will provide strategic leadership and operational governance across Telstra's Property Strategy & Experience (PS&E) commercial portfolio and Retail portfolio. You will be accountable for ensuring all contracted Workplace Services are delivered in accordance with the Master Services Agreement, Scope of Work, Service Levels, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and governance requirements.
The role is responsible for leading the delivery of workplace experience, facilities management, asset management, financial management, procurement, helpdesk operations, compliance, risk management, reporting, and vendor management services across a nationally and regionally dispersed portfolio
Main Duties:
- Lead all workplace operations and facilities management services across Telstra's diverse property portfolio including corporate offices, regional hubs, depots, warehouses, storage facilities, and retail stores, ensuring consistent service delivery aligned with hybrid workplace strategies and employee experience objectives.
- Maintain retail locations to agreed operational, presentation, security, compliance, and customer experience standards, ensuring facilities support Telstra's retail operating model and uphold brand expectations across all customer-facing environments.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of workplace management, facilities management, building services, asset management, maintenance programs, lifecycle planning, facility condition assessments, and operational compliance programs across all property types.
- Hold executive accountability for Help Desk performance including service request management, customer communications, escalation management, and SLA achievement, while ensuring reactive, preventative, and statutory maintenance services meet required response and resolution timeframes.
- Lead asset lifecycle planning, capital forecasting, condition audits, asset register governance, and long-term asset optimization strategies, coupled with annual planning processes covering operational plans, procurement strategies, lifecycle plans, maintenance plans, and budget development.
- Maintain executive oversight of all HSSE obligations including emergency management, business continuity planning, essential safety measures, asbestos management, contractor management, and statutory compliance requirements across all facilities.
- Ensure all reporting, management information systems, data quality standards, governance frameworks, audit requirements, and document management obligations are delivered accurately and on time to support operational transparency and decision-making.
- Provide leadership across procurement activities, vendor governance, subcontractor management, contract renewals, tender processes, and performance management programs, driving supplier performance to ensure contractual compliance, value-for-money outcomes, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver strong commercial outcomes through effective budget management, forecasting, accrual management, variance reporting, financial controls, and productivity initiatives, while leading monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews presenting performance results, trends, risks, financial outcomes, savings initiatives, and improvement opportunities.
- Drive technology adoption, operational innovation, automation, data analytics, and workplace transformation initiatives while collaborating across Facilities Management, Projects, Workplace Experience, Engineering, Property, Sustainability, Procurement, and Corporate Functions to deliver integrated, value-added service outcomes.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Property, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10–15 years' experience in senior facilities management, workplace services, property, or operational leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing large, multi-site commercial and retail portfolios.
- Demonstrated responsibility for major outsourced service delivery contracts with accountability for financial, operational, and contractual performance.
- Experience leading large geographically dispersed teams and vendor networks.
- Strong knowledge of asset management, workplace services, procurement, compliance, risk management, and contractor governance.
- Proven track record of delivering KPI, SLA, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes.
- Significant experience managing complex stakeholder environments and executive client relationships.
