The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in supporting daily operations across Collins Aerospace’s TEDS business by serving as the central point of coordination for visitor management, employee support, administrative processes, and site access compliance. Supporting leadership, staff, and approximately 332 onsite employees across the Simpsonville, SC and Medford, NY locations, this position helps ensure a secure, organized, and professional workplace environment while maintaining continuity across multiple facilities. The role serves as a key liaison for employees, visitors, contractors, and business partners, helping to keep essential site operations running smoothly and efficiently.
 

This position is responsible for overseeing front desk and lobby operations, visitor screening and access control, onboarding support, facilities coordination, event logistics, office services, and employee communications. The Administrative Assistant works closely with leadership, security, facilities, IT, and external vendors to manage compliance sensitive processes, support customer and employee interactions, and coordinate a wide range of operational activities. This is an onsite role in Simponsville, SC.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides dependable administrative support to Director and Assistant Directors (M7/M6 leaders), including scheduling coordination, document readiness, information routing, and day‑to‑day operational assistance within established guidelines
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail by accurately executing established administrative, access control, and visitor management procedures
  • Provides consistent, professional customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors in a front‑of‑house environment
  • Follows defined processes, compliance requirements, and work instructions with reliability and minimal supervision
  • Prioritizes daily tasks effectively to meet operational needs across two onsite locations
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with employees, customers, and technicians to resolve routine issues and ensure smooth site operations
  • Uses standard office software, workflow systems, and scheduling tools to complete tasks efficiently
  • Escalates exceptions or non‑standard situations appropriately to supervisors or subject‑matter experts
  • Collaborates with facilities, security, IT, and leadership teams to ensure timely completion of operational and administrative activities
  • Maintains confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to RTX/Collins access and compliance expectations
  • Adapts to shifting onsite demands, visitor volumes, and event schedules while maintaining service quality

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • ​Typically requires a High School Diploma, Associate Degree, or other two-year post-secondary training with less than 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience supporting administrative operations, visitor management, access control, front desk functions, or site coordination
  • Experience utilizing visitor management systems, badge/access control processes, or other compliance-driven administrative procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook for calendar management and scheduling
  • Experience working with enterprise business systems such as Workday, Concur, SAP, or similar workflow platforms
  • Experience coordinating multiple administrative activities, schedules, or customer support functions simultaneously

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience within similar Tier 1 aerospace/defense environments
  • Familiarity with RTX access control protocols, MK Denial screening requirements, and VMS workflows
  • Prior experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or service technicians under regulated access conditions
  • Knowledge of print operations, office supply management, or facilities service ticketing systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills

The salary range for this role is 38,500 USD - 67,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
