This is a high-impact platform leadership role shaping the future of one of the world’s most widely used developer API ecosystems. You will define how large-scale developer integrations, AI agents, and enterprise systems interact with a critical global platform in real time. The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, platform architecture, and developer experience, requiring strong technical depth and product vision. You will lead the evolution from traditional API models to event-driven, subscription-based systems designed for scale, reliability, and efficiency. In addition to technical transformation, you will influence consumption models and pricing strategies that ensure sustainable platform growth. This is a highly visible role working across engineering, data, and executive leadership in a fast-moving, globally distributed environment.
Accountabilities:
- Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a large-scale developer API and event-driven platform.
- Drive the transition from traditional request-based APIs to real-time, subscription-based event streaming systems.
- Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance for enterprise-grade and AI-driven usage at global scale.
- Identify and prioritize API gaps, improving parity between product surfaces and API capabilities.
- Design and evolve consumption and pricing models that balance cost recovery, efficiency, and ecosystem health.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and product teams to deliver scalable platform solutions.
- Lead data-driven decision-making using customer feedback, usage analytics, and market signals.
- Communicate product vision and updates through executive-level briefings and developer-facing channels.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in product management, platform engineering, software development, or related technical roles.
- Proven experience building APIs, developer platforms, or event-driven/real-time systems at scale.
- Strong technical background with the ability to translate complex system needs into product strategy.
- Experience working with developer tools, integrations, or ecosystem platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across large organizations.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, finance, billing, and go-to-market teams.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to guide product and platform decisions.
- Preferred: experience with usage-based pricing models, streaming systems (webhooks, pub/sub, SSE), or API monetization strategies.
