Job Description:

Polaris Alpha® Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is seeking an amazingly talented Software / Test & Integration Engineer whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, integration, testing, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission-critical solutions. We seek engineers who are versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic about tackling new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting-edge tools. For this position, the engineer will analyze, design, implement, integrate, and test advanced capabilities for armament systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The role includes development, integration, and testing of software modules for new tactical fire control systems based on established requirements, with strong consideration for interoperability, software architecture openness, and mission performance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design, develop, integrate, install, and test software modules for U.S. Army tactical fire control systems in an Agile development environment
  • Perform requirements analysis and maintain requirements traceability
  • Provide software test and integration expertise to the engineering team
  • Develop test cases, test plans, and test scripts
  • Author design, interface, user, and test documentation
  • Support software implementation activities for mission-critical solutions
  • Perform software configuration management using tools such as Git, Jira, or similar platforms
  • Support periodic design reviews
  • Support Agile sprint planning activities
  • Support demonstrations, expositions, and test events
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of secure, high-performance solutions

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in software engineering, integration, testing, or a related technical role
  • Experience with development, build, and configuration tools such as the Atlassian toolset, including Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence
  • Experience or familiarity with software development in one or more of the following: C++, Java, Angular/React/Typescript, algorithms, or mathematical applications
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks
  • Familiarity with DoD applications running in Linux and Windows environments
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who enjoys contributing to a hard-working team
  • Ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to travel

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Software development lifecycle experience, especially within the DoD
  • Experience developing in, deploying to, or supporting applications in Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with Government standards and procedures
  • Understanding of, and experience working within, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with or knowledge of U.S. Army tactical fire control systems
  • Experience migrating legacy applications to modern frameworks
  • Experience with microservices, including Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
