Quality Assurance Engineer

Jobgether · India

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer based in India.

This role is designed for a QA professional who treats quality as a shared engineering responsibility rather than a final checkpoint. You will be embedded across the full software delivery lifecycle, starting from early requirement discussions through to post-production validation. Your work will directly influence product reliability, user experience, and release confidence in a fast-paced engineering environment. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to shape test strategy, improve acceptance criteria, and ensure robust validation across UI, API, and integration layers. The role also emphasizes modern QA practices, including automation and AI-assisted testing to improve speed and coverage. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on position where your input meaningfully raises engineering standards across the team.

Accountabilities:

  • Participate early in requirement and design discussions to identify gaps, risks, and edge cases before development begins.
  • Define and contribute to test strategy, scope, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites across UI, API, contract, and integration layers using TypeScript and Puppeteer or equivalent tools.
  • Integrate and maintain quality checks within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring stable and reliable test execution on every build.
  • Apply AI-assisted testing techniques for test design, debugging, and data generation while critically evaluating outputs for accuracy.
  • Perform security and accessibility testing aligned with OWASP Top 10 and standard a11y guidelines.
  • Monitor post-release quality through dashboards and production alerts, ensuring validation of production deployments.
  • Document defects clearly and work closely with engineering teams to validate fixes and ensure resolution against requirements.
  • Track and report quality metrics, translating technical findings into clear customer-impact insights.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Support knowledge sharing and contribute to improving QA practices across the team.
  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate has 3–8 years of experience in software quality engineering within agile and fast-moving environments, with strong technical skills in automation, testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows. You should be comfortable working across multiple layers of the application stack and proactively driving quality improvements.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • 3–8 years of experience in QA or software quality engineering roles.
    • Hands-on experience with TypeScript and automation frameworks such as Puppeteer (or similar tools like Cypress/Playwright).
    • Strong experience building automated test suites across UI, API, integration, and contract testing layers.
    • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and maintaining quality gates.
    • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and practical use of security testing tools.
    • Experience with accessibility testing tools and manual a11y validation techniques.
    • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
    • Experience using AI tools to support test design, debugging, or test data generation.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate risks and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • ISTQB certification (Advanced or Foundation) is a plus, along with API testing certification (e.g., Postman).
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and skills
      • Remote-friendly and flexible working environment
      • Opportunity to work on modern QA engineering practices, including AI-assisted testing
      • Exposure to scalable automation frameworks and CI/CD-driven development workflows
      • Professional growth in a product engineering environment with strong mentorship culture
      • Learning opportunities in security, accessibility, and test automation best practices
      • Collaborative engineering culture focused on continuous improvement and quality ownership.
