Accountabilities
- Develop, manage, and grow a profitable surety portfolio across assigned territories within the Western United States, ensuring sustainable business performance and long-term growth.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing broker partners while identifying and establishing new business opportunities within the local surety market.
- Execute regional strategic objectives in partnership with leadership, contributing to business expansion and market penetration initiatives.
- Assess, analyze, and underwrite surety risks in accordance with established underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and portfolio management standards.
- Maintain accurate and transparent documentation of underwriting decisions, recommendations, and risk evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal teams across regional and international markets to leverage expertise, strengthen client relationships, and maximize business opportunities.
- Represent the organization within industry associations, networking events, and surety-related forums to enhance market visibility and business development efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience within the surety industry, with demonstrated success managing and growing profitable surety portfolios.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. surety market and proven expertise in underwriting surety accounts and evaluating complex risks.
- Established network of broker relationships and a successful track record of generating and developing business through intermediary partnerships.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, financial assessment, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance risk management and business development objectives.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to establish goals, drive initiatives, and deliver measurable business results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Interest in emerging technologies and a willingness to learn and integrate Artificial Intelligence tools into day-to-day business processes.
