Sr. Software Engineer - Provider Services

This is a high-impact backend engineering role focused on building and scaling the core systems that connect healthcare providers with patients in a modern telehealth environment. You will design and develop reliable, high-performance services that support provider operations, third-party integrations, and critical platform workflows. The role involves solving complex distributed systems challenges while ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless experiences that directly support care delivery in the mental health space. This is a fully remote position within a mission-driven organization committed to improving access to quality healthcare. Your work will have a direct impact on enabling providers to deliver timely, effective care to patients.
Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems supporting provider services, telehealth workflows, and third-party integrations.
- Develop robust APIs, services, and system architectures with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and security.
- Own features across the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with product needs.
- Build and improve event-driven systems, data models, and service integrations that ensure consistency and system integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring system stability and operational excellence.
- Contribute to architectural decisions that support scalability and long-term platform evolution.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong background in backend systems design, including scalable, reliable, and high-performance architectures.
- Experience with API design, distributed systems, data modeling, and system security best practices.
- Proficiency in modern backend technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or equivalent environments.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle from planning to production support.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and product teams.
- Experience in growth-stage environments or working on microservices-based architectures is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
