Purview Sales Engineer

This role is a high-impact, customer-facing opportunity at the intersection of cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise sales engineering. The position focuses on enabling organizations to strengthen their data security, compliance, and risk management posture through Microsoft Purview and advanced security solutions. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will partner closely with sales teams, customers, and channel partners to design tailored security architectures and demonstrate the business value of modern data protection strategies. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong consultative selling skills, requiring the ability to translate complex security capabilities into clear business outcomes. It is ideal for a customer-obsessed cybersecurity professional who thrives in fast-paced enterprise sales environments and enjoys shaping solutions from discovery through deal closure.

Accountabilities:

  • Partner with sales teams and channel organizations to identify, develop, and close enterprise cybersecurity opportunities leveraging Microsoft Purview solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical subject matter expert for Purview and related Microsoft security technologies across customer engagements.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to assess customer needs across data security, compliance, governance, and risk management domains.
  • Design and present end-to-end security solutions aligned with Microsoft Purview, managed security services, and customer objectives.
  • Deliver technical demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept sessions to both technical stakeholders and executive audiences.
  • Support RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and other technical sales documentation and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and delivery teams to define solution architectures and implementation scopes.
  • Provide ongoing technical advisory support and act as a trusted consultant throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to help refine offerings and improve go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Microsoft security, AI-driven cybersecurity trends, and competitive landscape developments.
  • Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical pre-sales role in cybersecurity.
    • Proven experience supporting enterprise sales cycles and driving successful technical evaluations leading to closed deals.
    • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview, including DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery, and compliance capabilities.
    • Experience with Microsoft security ecosystem tools such as Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID, and related Azure security services.
    • Solid understanding of enterprise cybersecurity concepts including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, DLP, and security operations workflows.
    • Experience assessing enterprise environments and defining technical scopes for managed security or professional services engagements.
    • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders.
    • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, quota-driven, and partner-led sales environments.
    • Preferred: experience in Managed Security Services (MSSP/MDR), Microsoft certifications, and familiarity with competing data security platforms.
