This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise, enterprise sales strategy, and team leadership during a high-growth phase in the identity security space. You will lead and scale a team of Sales Engineers supporting complex enterprise customers navigating modern access and security challenges driven by SaaS and AI adoption. The position combines hands-on technical credibility with strong leadership, requiring someone who can both guide strategic customer conversations and build a high-performing team. You will partner closely with sales leadership, product teams, and marketing to refine messaging, improve sales execution, and influence product direction. Acting as both a coach and a player-coach, you will ensure consistent delivery of high-quality technical sales engagements across the region. This is a highly visible role where your leadership directly impacts revenue growth, customer success, and overall market expansion.
Accountabilities:
- Lead, hire, coach, and scale a high-performing Sales Engineering team across the Southwest region
- Drive team performance and execution, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and technical sales standards
- Support enterprise-level sales cycles by acting as a technical advisor on complex identity security solutions
- Partner with regional sales leadership on account strategy, territory planning, and deal execution
- Improve sales engineering methodologies, including demos, presentations, and technical storytelling tailored to customer needs
- Identify skill gaps and design training programs to continuously elevate technical and commercial capabilities within the team
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and field sales to provide market and customer feedback
- Build strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to support strategic deal progression
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Sales Engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership or player-coach role
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and enterprise software architectures
- Experience in identity security, IAM principles, or related cybersecurity domains
- Familiarity with AI-driven solutions and modern enterprise security challenges
- Proven ability to support complex enterprise sales cycles and technical evaluations
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
