Manager, Consumer Specialist Sales, Credit Portfolio Optimization, Southeast Asia

Overview

The Manager, Consumer Specialist Sales – Credit Portfolio Optimization will partner closely with Account teams, Product, Marketing, and Services to identify, shape, and execute portfolio optimization opportunities to drive portfolio growth and deliver incremental value for Mastercard and its customers across Southeast Asia.

The role combines data-driven portfolio insights with commercial solutioning, supporting issuers in improving activation, domestic and cross border spend engagement, transaction approval rates, and overall performance of in force credit card portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess Portfolio Performance

• Assess in-force credit card portfolio performance across key metrics, including:
o Card activation and early month on book (EMOB) / first-use
o Domestic and cross-border spend active rates
o Purchase volume and engagement
o Card-present and card-not-present authorization approval rates
o Dormant and inactive card segments

2. Identify Optimization Opportunities

• Leverage data insights and benchmarks to identify high-impact opportunities to improve portfolio performance, including:
o Activation and EMOB programs to drive early usage and habit formation
o Spend and engagement initiatives to increase usage
o Authorization performance improvements (approval rates and transaction success)
o Dormancy and reactivation programs to recover inactive cards

3. Orchestrate Execution, Track Performance, and Scale Impact

• Define portfolio optimization priorities and coordinate delivery across Account Management, Marketing, Services, and other relevant teams
• Develop portfolio performance dashboards to support decision-making and track performance
• Own outcomes of portfolio optimization initiatives, ensuring effective delivery through appropriate teams
• Capture successful approaches and translate them into repeatable playbooks
• Scale proven initiatives across markets and clients to drive sustained portfolio growth

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of credit card portfolios and post-issuance lifecycle dynamics, including activation, engagement, retention, and authorization performance
• Proven ability to translate data and insights into actionable portfolio optimization strategies that drive measurable outcomes
• Strong commercial mindset, linking portfolio metrics to growth, usage, and revenue impact
• Ability to move from insight to execution, driving structured initiatives and delivering results
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work across teams without direct authority
• Ability to orchestrate cross-functional teams and capabilities to deliver outcomes at scale
• Experience working across multiple markets or regional roles preferred
• Ability to develop and deliver clear, structured, client-facing narratives, and influence senior stakeholders
