Graduate Trainee (Associate Scientist), Analytical Research
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Function:
Perform analysis of new ingredient, prototypes, replicates and finished products.
Assist scientists in performing experiments in method/process development and validation
Coordinate and assist scientists in performing instrument validation
Manage own daily activities to meet turn-around time of tests
Document experiment, results and observation in a timely and accurate manner
Interact with other groups and share information; participates in team activities
Perform purchasing, lab inventory, equipment calibration and other lab house-keeping under direction of lab manager or senior scientist to maintain smooth and safe lab operation. May assume responsibility of maintaining assigned lab procedures and processes
Compliant to all applicable safety, qualify, and AN policies and procedures; participate in and coordinate CAPA and LI
Establish procedures, rules and guidelines within the section under direction of lab manager
Coordinate and provide training within the section
Perform TPL operational management work under direction of lab manager or senior scientist to assure the quality of TPL services
To carry out analytical research, sample testing, lab operation and maintenance, technical support and liaison with external scientific community.

Provide training, method training and method transfer of analytical methods internally and/or externally
Comply to and implement Quality, EHS and company policies
Provide physical chemistry/analytical chemistry/food chemistry consultation to product research & development, supply chain, medical safety, clinical research & nutrition science, and regulatory, etc.
Support the built-up of R&D network capability
Frequent liaison with the external scientific community
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry/Food Science related major
Skills/Experience Requirements:
0-2 years’ work experience/internship in chemistry, food science, food chemistry, food microbiology, or related experiences
Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry, food and nutritional science and applications
Fluency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Troubleshooting and resolve/recommend
Demonstrated ability to assess and synthesize scientific data.
Some travel may be required.
Strong interpersonal and writing skills with attention to details.
Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
Strong presentation and communications skills to cross-functional teams and management at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and prioritize workload.
Hands-on experience in analytical instruments
Experience in working in R&D environment.
Interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
