The Opportunity
Do you thrive at the intersection of analytical science, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional collaboration? Bristol Myers Squibb is looking for a Scientist to join our Analytical Strategy & Lifecycle (AS&L) Biologics team - a role where your technical expertise directly supports the medicines that patients depend on every day.
In this position, you'll be a key player in the lifecycle management of commercial and late-stage biologic products, helping ensure that our analytical methods are robust, compliant, and continuously optimized. You'll partner with QC laboratories around the world, contribute to high-stakes regulatory filings, and serve as a trusted technical voice across a global, matrixed organization.
What You'll Do
- Be the Technical Expert — Serve as a QC point of contact, supporting method evaluations, troubleshooting, tech transfers, validations, and investigations across the BMS network and external testing labs.
- Drive Regulatory Success — Contribute to BLAs, Rest-of-World filings, Post-Approval Submissions (PAS), Follow-Up Measures (FUMs), and Post-Marketing Commitments (PMCs), including authoring responses to Health Authority questions.
- Manage Method Lifecycles — Support analytical change control, specification management, and control strategy implementation across BMS sites, third-party manufacturers, and partner laboratories.
- Connect the Dots Cross-Functionally — Act as a bridge between QC and teams across analytical development, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, and quality to deliver seamless analytical strategies.
- Continuously Improve — Lead and contribute to improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and method robustness.
What You’ll Bring
- A PhD, MS, or BS in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field, with 2–6 years of relevant biologics experience (commensurate with degree level)
- Hands-on expertise with a broad range of analytical techniques including HPLC, iCIEF, capillary/gel electrophoresis, MS, UV absorption, and ELISAs
- Solid working knowledge of method qualification, validation, and cGMP laboratory operations, underpinned by familiarity with regulatory guidelines
- Experience navigating Analytical Strategy & Lifecycle frameworks (JOS, Analytical Procedures, Method Validation)
- A proven ability to analyze complex data, draw actionable conclusions, and communicate findings clearly — both in writing and verbally
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a global matrix environment, including with remote colleagues
