This proactive, results-oriented role focuses on developing strategic sourcing plans for custom mechanical and other purchasing categories. Tasks will include the identification of new vendors, filling supply chain gaps, and managing vendor compliance and relationships. This role must be able to drive these initiatives while receiving assistance from various functional areas. An additional function of this role is to assist the organization is competitive quoting and project cost estimations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute strategies to find new suppliers for leading-edge technical designs, specifically in areas such as wire EDM machining, custom cabling, finishing, quick prototyping and CNC machining.
Costing & Analysis: Conduct competitive quoting and analysis for vendor competitiveness, customer proposals, large and small volume jobs, and product life cycle needs.
Compliance Management: Manage strict adherence to CMMC, ITAR, BAA/TAA, Berry Amendment, and MSI Corporate compliance. Ensure all contract flowdowns and NDAs are executed.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build strong relationships, lead negotiations for outside service contracts, and conduct regular performance reviews.
Process Improvement: Identify best practices to reduce supply chain risk and ensure suppliers remain cost-competitive.
Buying & Setup: Assist the procurement team with quoting duties, sourcing new parts, and completing new vendor setups, as necessary.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement tools and strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Advanced Excel skills is a must have.
Soft Skills: Ability to influence decision-making and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred: Experience or exposure to government contracting is preferred.

Target Base Salary Range: $51,700 - $70,700 USD

3+ years of experience in procurement or similar business experience.
