What will you do?
As a Team Lead in Inventory Control at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll guide a team of inventory professionals while contributing to our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. In this dual-role position, you'll oversee daily operations, ensuring accurate inventory management and exceptional service delivery, while also leading data analytics initiatives and digital deployment projects to transform and optimize our inventory and distribution processes.
You'll serve as a key liaison between customers and Thermo Fisher Scientific, managing important relationships while delivering on contractual commitments. This role combines leadership, analytical thinking, strategic planning, and digital innovation to drive continuous improvement and modernize inventory operations across our LSG Singapore facility.
How you will make an impact:
Lead and develop a team of inventory control professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to foster a culture of excellence
Work with respective departments to ensure compliance of process workflows and procedure requirements
Drive data analytics initiatives by developing and implementing advanced reporting, dashboards, and predictive analytics tools to optimize inventory performance and decision-making
Lead digital deployment projects, including the implementation of new technologies, automation solutions, and digital tools to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
Develop and track business metrics and KPIs using data visualization and analytics platforms to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Oversee daily inventory operations, ensuring accuracy in cycle counts, stock movements, and inventory reconciliation across the distribution facility
Partner with IT and digital transformation teams to deploy and integrate digital solutions such as RFID, barcode scanning systems, or inventory management software upgrades
Conduct advanced data analysis on inventory velocity, inventory segmentation, turnover rates, obsolescence, and capacity utilization to provide actionable insights to leadership
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both traditional inventory management and new digital processes
Identify and execute process improvement opportunities using data-driven insights and digital tools, leveraging methodologies such as PPI.
Manage important customer relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring service level agreements are met through both traditional methods and digital communication platforms
Lead site audits and physical inventory counts, utilizing digital tools to streamline accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Warehouse Operations, Finance, IT, and Quality to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions
Train team members on new digital tools, analytics platforms, and data interpretation to build organizational capability
Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485, ISO14971 & QSR21CFR requirements in both physical and digital processes
Champion the use of advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools for inventory reporting and insights
Participate in global digital transformation initiatives, bringing best practices from the LSG Singapore operations to the broader organization
Engage in Daily Management, 5S, Gemba walk, and Practical Process Improvement activities, incorporating digital tools to enhance visibility and accountability
How will you get here?
Education
Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field plus 2 years of experience in inventory management
Requirements
2+ years of leadership experience with proven ability to supervise, coach, and develop team members
Strong proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms such as Excel (advanced), Power BI, SQL, or similar analytics software
Experience leading or participating in digital transformation, system implementation, or technology deployment projects
Proficiency in inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle) and demonstrated ability to leverage technology for process improvement
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make data-driven decisions and translate complex data into actionable insights
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization in a digital context
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present data insights to various stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing operational excellence with innovation initiatives
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
Experience in conducting site audits and physical inventory counts
Capability to work independently in a distributed environment and collaborate across global teams
Knowledge of automation technologies, or digital inventory solutions is highly preferred
Experience with data visualization, predictive analytics, or business intelligence reporting
Familiarity with change management principles related to digital adoption
