Manager- Accounts Payable

OakNorth · Gurugram

ABOUT US

At OakNorth, we're on a mission to empower ambitious businesses and the communities they serve. Since 2015, we've lent over $21 billion across the UK and US, helped create more than 58,000 new homes and 36,000 new jobs, and supported hundreds of thousands of personal savers — all while driving economic growth in the markets we serve.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our Finance team sits at the heart of OakNorth's operations, supporting a fast-scaling business across India, the UK, and the US. The Accounts Payable function is a critical part of that engine — ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, compliance obligations are met across multiple jurisdictions, and finance processes are continually improving. This is a team that takes ownership, embraces automation, and partners closely with the rest of the business to drive operational excellence.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Manager – Accounts Payable to lead end-to-end AP operations across India, the UK, and the US. Reporting into Finance leadership, you will own invoice processing, multi-jurisdictional compliance, vendor payments, and month-end close, while driving process automation and continuous improvement. This role has a direct impact on OakNorth's operational efficiency and supplier relationships as we continue to scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, approvals, reconciliations, and payments (vendor, intercompany, and taxes).

  • Ensure accurate accounting and compliance for India, UK, and US invoices, including GST, TDS, UK VAT, and US sales/use tax requirements.

  • Complete payment runs, vendor reconciliations, and resolve supplier escalations to ensure timely and accurate payments.

  • Support month-end and year-end close, AP reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and statutory/government reporting requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards.

  • Drive process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives using AP automation tools and AI-enabled solutions for invoice processing, exception management, and analytics.

  • Develop and monitor AP KPIs, prepare management reports and dashboards, and provide actionable insights using advanced Excel and BI tools.

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Business stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and vendor experience.

  • Support and develop team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate with Treasury to ensure timely domestic and international supplier payments, support cash flow forecasting and working capital management, and drive payment automation and process improvements.

YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE…

  • 8–10 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment, with a track record of leading AP processes or teams.

  • Strong knowledge of AP operations across India, the UK, and the US, including GST, TDS, UK VAT, and US sales/use tax compliance.

  • Proficiency in ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, Power Pivot, dashboards, and financial reporting.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and people leadership skills.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • CA Inter, CMA, ACCA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Experience with AP transformation, automation, and AI-powered finance tools, including Generative AI (e.g. Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT) to improve productivity, reporting, and process efficiency.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Health & Protection: Comprehensive medical cover for you, your family, and parents, along with life and accidental insurance cover at a multiple of your salary.

  • Wellbeing: Annual health check-ups, online doctor consultations, pharmacy discounts, nutritionist support, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services — all sponsored by OakNorth.

  • Time Off: Earned leave, casual/sick leave, public holidays, maternity leave, and paternity leave.

  • Life Milestones: Financial support for important life events such as marriage, childbirth, and bereavement.

  • Flexible Benefits: Tax-efficient allowances for internet, fuel, meals, leave travel, and National Pension System (NPS) contributions.

  • Growth & Development: Support for professional certifications, learning and development opportunities, childcare benefits, and paid volunteering days.

  • Our Workplace: Modern, centrally located offices, weekly business updates, team events, and great coffee. We work hard to build a culture worth showing up for.
