This role sits at the intersection of science and technology, supporting the evolution of laboratory data platforms that power drug discovery and research innovation. You will translate complex scientific needs into clear, structured system requirements that guide development teams in building and enhancing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Working within a global, cross-functional environment, you will collaborate closely with scientists, product owners, and engineers to ensure data integrity, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. The role plays a key part in enabling high-quality research data capture, analysis, and reporting across preclinical and clinical studies. You will contribute to platform strategy, roadmap definition, and system optimization while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This is a highly collaborative and impactful position where scientific understanding directly shapes digital research capabilities.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will act as a bridge between research scientists and technology teams, ensuring scientific and operational needs are translated into actionable system requirements.
- Translate complex scientific and laboratory workflows into clear user stories, functional requirements, and system specifications for LIMS platforms and related research systems.
- Collaborate with scientists, product owners, and developers to design, configure, and enhance laboratory data management solutions supporting drug discovery and preclinical research.
- Manage and support LIMS platforms, integrations, and scientific software tools, ensuring data quality, system performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, documentation, test plans, training materials, and communication plans for system releases and enhancements.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks related to system functionality, data integrity, validation, and user acceptance.
- Support testing activities, including functional and integration testing, and contribute to Agile ceremonies within a SAFe environment.
- Enable continuous improvement by optimizing workflows, supporting AI/ML readiness, and enhancing research data operations across global teams.
Requirements
This role requires a strong combination of scientific understanding, business analysis capability, and hands-on experience with laboratory systems.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field, with relevant industry experience.
- Experience working as a Business Analyst or Scientific Systems Analyst in research, biotech, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, or supporting LIMS platforms (e.g., LabVantage, STARLIMS, or similar systems).
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, bioanalytical processes, and scientific data lifecycle management.
- Ability to translate technical and scientific concepts into structured documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with GxP environments, regulatory standards (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GLP), and system validation practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (SAFe preferred), Jira, and product delivery processes in complex environments.
