Toyota Woven City is aiming to have a fully connected ecosystem powered by carbon free energy ("CFE") including renewable power and hydrogen to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan.

This team is responsible for launching and maintaining a hydrogen demonstration environment at Woven City and conducting demonstrations outside Woven City, collaborating with various stakeholders, and developing business models and strategies. You will report to the head of this team, Sub-Lead of Hydrogen Product Management Energy.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for those who are passionate about promoting hydrogen by leveraging Woven City’s incomparable demonstration environment.

As a data analyst for the hydrogen ecosystem solutions team, you will be responsible for analyzing data from various hydrogen demonstrations and sources and deriving insights to support the development of hydrogen products and businesses. 

We are looking for analysts with a passion about developing hydrogen products/business models within Woven City and beyond. With hands-on experiences and deep knowledge about data analytics, you are expected to distill large volumes of data into useful insights to develop hydrogen products and businesses. You are also expected to develop visualizations and reports to support communications with various stakeholders. You are also expected to work closely with specialists from various disciplines to derive insights and support data usability across the team.

We are looking for someone with data analysis experience in energy or engineering related fields with strong ownership and entrepreneurial drive. A collaborative mindset is important to work with various stakeholders across departments and external companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage expertise in data modeling and analytics to distill Big data (large volume, variety etc.) into meaningful insights
  • Considering stakeholder business objectives and user experience create impactful visualizations and reports from data analysis
  • Build interactive map based visualizations of data (e.g., using GIS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or related software)
  • Manipulate data into useable formats and analyze trends, patterns to create business insights (working with business / subject matter experts)
  • Support collection of data (working with data engineers/software engineers and subject matter experts) by identifying priority datasets for meaningful analysis
  • Analyze operational data from various hydrogen demonstrations to derive learnings and business insights
  • Work with cross-functional teams, various service project owners, third parties, software and hardware engineers to define questions for analysis and implementation of insights from analysis
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information engineering, data science, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in data analytics / data science
  • Expertise in data collection and manipulation (e.g., SQL, python etc.)
  • Expertise in statistics and trend analysis
  • Expertise with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with energy demand/supply topics (e.g., hydrogen economy, oil & gas, renewables, energy demand/supply balancing and forecasting, or other related fields)
  • Proficiency in business level Japanese and advanced English with a passion to develop English skill
  • NICE TO HAVES

  • Master’s degree in information engineering, data science, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge about cloud services
  • Experience in the software product development for the energy management system, electric power systems
  • Ability to learn new domains as needed
  • Experience in UI/UX design and front-end web development
  • Professional experience in web application development using Python(Django, Flask, FastAPI etc.) or Java(Spring etc.) with DB(PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
  • Ability to create design documents for Web APIs, databases, and batch processing
  • Proficiency in business level English
  • Native level Japanese
