Job Description
Purpose of the role
Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.
Accountabilities
Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients - identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs.
Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client / prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long term commercial reward.
Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk.
Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards Service/group relationships - referrals to group colleagues.

Or for an individual contributor, they lead organisation wide projects and act as deep technical expert and thought leader, identifying new ways of working and collaborating cross functionally. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..
Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function wide strategic initiatives.
Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
Escalates breaches of policies / procedure appropriately.
Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence.
Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.

Overall purpose of role
The Private Banking team offers bespoke banking and investment solutions to high net worth clients. Barclays Private Bankers act as trusted advisors to clients providing bespoke banking services, lending and wealth structuring, in addition to a world class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes.

Person Specification:
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience of successfully covering Private Bank clients in the Israeli Market.
- Excellent relationship skills with experience of managing and handling the sophisticated needs of individuals and families.
- Effective in gaining an in-depth understanding of client’s needs and advising on a diverse range of wealth management solutions.
- Experience in controlling and monitoring of risk within a client book.
- Substantial experience of the Financial Services industry, particularly in the areas of Retail regulated products and services to HNW & UHNW customers.
- The ideal candidate will maintain a full, up to date understanding of the general financial markets dynamics and current financial concepts.
- Demonstrate a high aptitude and understanding of the digital landscape, with the ability to effectively manage Clients’ changing needs in this area.
- Excellent market exposure and multi-disciplined private banking expertise.
- An ability to proactively drive business development.
- Good management skills and experience of influencing others through direct or indirect management.
- Experience of stakeholder management/matrix management
- Experience of mentoring and/or managing small teams
- A detailed and up to date knowledge of the Israeli Private Banking / UHNW market
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience of successfully covering Private Bank clients in the Israeli Market and the Jewish diaspora based in Switzerland.
Language skills
The successful candidate will be fluent in English and knowledge in Hebrew would be advantageous.
