Accountabilities
- Research and identify target accounts, key decision-makers, and high-potential merchants across international markets to generate new business opportunities.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to engage and qualify leads.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients, ensuring consistent activity and accurate CRM tracking.
- Schedule discovery meetings and coordinate sales conversations for senior business development and account executives.
- Engage with prospects to understand their payment needs, business models, and operational challenges.
- Support the sales cycle by assisting with presentations, proposals, negotiations, and early-stage onboarding activities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, update pipeline stages, and ensure proper documentation of all sales interactions.
- Monitor pipeline performance and report on lead generation activity, conversion rates, and sales progress.
- Develop and nurture relationships with merchants, enterprise stakeholders, and business owners across multiple industries.
- Represent the company at industry events, fintech conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from prospecting to onboarding.
- Stay up to date with fintech, payment solutions, and merchant services trends to effectively position offerings in the market.
- Consistently meet or exceed defined KPIs related to outreach, lead generation, and pipeline development.
- 1–3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, SDR, BDR, or account development roles.
- Proven experience in fintech, payments, financial services, SaaS, banking technology, or related industries with strong financial exposure.
- Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting, lead generation, qualification, and pipeline management.
- Experience engaging decision-makers, conducting discovery calls, and supporting complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of payment solutions, merchant services, or financial technology products is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, or similar platforms.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
- Highly motivated, target-driven mindset with the ability to work in structured, performance-oriented environments.
- Self-starter attitude with adaptability, resilience, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced setting.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Willingness to work onsite in South Africa and travel internationally for industry events when required.
