Business Development Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Representative based in Canada.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional to help expand the reach of a specialized ERP software solution within the steel service industry across North America. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities through proactive outreach and strategic prospecting. The position requires a strong “hunter” mindset, where persistence, communication skills, and relationship-building are essential to success. You will play a key role in driving pipeline growth by initiating conversations with potential customers and scheduling product demonstrations for the sales team. Operating in a remote-first environment, you will collaborate closely with internal teams to support a fast-growing software organization. This is a high-energy, performance-driven role where your efforts directly contribute to market expansion and revenue growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Drive outbound prospecting activities including cold calling, email outreach, social selling, and video engagement to generate qualified leads.
  • Identify potential customers within the steel service and manufacturing sectors and initiate meaningful conversations to understand their business needs.
  • Schedule and coordinate product demonstrations for qualified prospects with the sales and solutions team.
  • Maintain consistent pipeline activity and ensure accurate tracking of leads, interactions, and opportunities in CRM systems.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to align outreach strategies and support revenue objectives.
  • Develop strong rapport with prospects and internal stakeholders to build trust and long-term business relationships.
  • Stay informed on ERP product offerings and industry trends to effectively position solutions during outreach.
  • Requirements:

    • 1–3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or lead generation roles (B2B SaaS or ERP experience preferred).
    • Strong communication, persuasion, and presentation skills, with confidence in cold calling and outbound prospecting.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong self-motivation and accountability.
    • Experience or familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is considered a strong asset.
    • Comfortable using CRM tools, Excel, and digital communication platforms.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads and priorities simultaneously.
