This role is focused on driving strategic revenue growth across electric utility, transmission & distribution, and heavy industrial markets, including sectors such as renewable energy, EPC, oil & gas, mining, data centers, and large-scale industrial operations. The position plays a critical role in shaping early-stage project influence by engaging stakeholders at the pre-specification phase and positioning complex electrical equipment and engineered power solutions. It requires a strong blend of technical understanding and commercial acumen to navigate long sales cycles and high-value capital projects. You will build and maintain executive-level relationships with utility leaders, engineers, procurement teams, and EPC partners. The environment is highly consultative, requiring proactive pipeline development and deep market intelligence. This is a remote role with significant exposure to large infrastructure and grid modernization initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead strategic business development initiatives across utility and heavy industrial markets, identifying and advancing large-scale capital projects such as substations, transmission upgrades, and grid modernization programs
  • Develop and manage executive-level relationships with utilities, EPC firms, industrial clients, and engineering stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on power systems and grid solutions
  • Influence early-stage project specifications by positioning technical solutions at the pre-design phase in collaboration with internal engineering teams
  • Manage a long-cycle sales pipeline (6–36 months), including forecasting, opportunity tracking, and territory reporting
  • Support RFP/RFQ responses, lead commercial negotiations, and contribute to win strategies and competitive positioning
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and infrastructure investments to identify new business opportunities and inform strategy
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in business development or technical sales within electric utilities, T&D, or heavy industrial power systems
    • Proven track record of closing multi-million-dollar capital equipment deals in complex B2B environments
    • Strong understanding of transmission & distribution systems, substation design, utility procurement processes, and grid infrastructure projects
    • Experience selling or working with MV/HV electrical equipment, reactive power compensation, or substation technologies strongly preferred
    • Ability to manage long and complex sales cycles while engaging technical and executive stakeholders
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Electrical Engineering preferred)
