This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Consultant (HCM / Workday) based in Germany.

This role sits at the core of a large-scale HR and payroll transformation programme, where data quality, integration, and governance are critical to success. You will act as a key specialist ensuring seamless movement of workforce and HR data into Workday and across downstream systems. The position combines hands-on technical work with strong stakeholder coordination across HR, payroll, IT, and external vendors. You will design and deliver robust data migration and ETL solutions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability. The environment is highly collaborative and transformation-driven, with significant exposure to complex global data ecosystems. Your work will directly influence the reliability of HR and payroll operations across the organisation.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines for HR, payroll, and workforce data integration
  • Execute data migration activities into Workday and ensure seamless integration with downstream systems
  • Develop and enforce data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance frameworks
  • Perform pre- and post-load checks including payroll reconciliation, completeness, and duplication analysis
  • Optimise SQL queries and ETL processes to ensure scalability and performance
  • Coordinate data migration activities across HR, IT, payroll, and external vendors
  • Support cutover planning and execution from a data perspective
  • Implement and uphold data governance, compliance, and control frameworks
  • Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Data Consultant, Data Migration Specialist, or Data Integration Engineer
    • Strong hands-on experience with Workday HCM implementations and data migration projects
    • Advanced SQL skills with solid ETL development expertise
    • Strong understanding of HR, payroll, and workforce data structures
    • Experience in data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes
    • Ability to manage complex data migration activities across multiple stakeholders
    • Knowledge of data governance principles and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR)
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Experience with Workday Payroll or integration tools is a plus
    • Familiarity with Agile delivery environments is advantageous
