This role offers an opportunity to shape and lead enterprise-wide data architecture supporting mission-critical government programs within highly secure and complex environments. As a Senior Data Architect, you will design scalable, resilient, and secure data ecosystems that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making. You will work across engineering, analytics, and program leadership teams to define data strategies and ensure seamless integration across multiple systems and platforms. The position plays a key role in establishing governance, data quality standards, and architectural best practices across cloud and hybrid environments. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architectures, models, and database structures supporting operational and analytical systems.
- Define and implement data strategies aligned with business, mission, reporting, and decision-support requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex data needs into scalable and secure technical solutions.
- Design and implement data integration frameworks across multiple systems, platforms, and environments.
- Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, and data security standards across the enterprise.
- Ensure compliance with performance, security, and regulatory requirements, including government and defense standards.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, databases, and storage solutions for scalability and efficiency.
- Support cloud-based and hybrid data environments, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Partner with software engineering teams to support system integrations and data service development.
- Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, data models, and technical specifications.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to architecture, tools, and practices.
- Support business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and decision-support initiatives across programs.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or database design roles.
- Strong experience designing enterprise data models, database solutions, and large-scale data systems.
- Deep knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data migration projects.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data security principles.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, BI platforms, and analytics ecosystems.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale or mission-critical systems, preferably in government or defense environments.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and modern data engineering practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
