Senior Data Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Engineer based in Brazil.
You will join a data-driven organization operating at massive scale, building and evolving the core data platform that powers insights, analytics, and product experiences for millions of users. In this role, you will design and maintain high-volume data pipelines, ensuring reliability, observability, and performance across complex datasets. You will work closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams to transform raw data into trusted, well-modeled assets that support decision-making and downstream applications. The environment is highly collaborative, engineering-focused, and deeply committed to data quality and scalability. You will contribute directly to the modernization of a next-generation data platform, helping shape architecture and best practices. This role also offers strong ownership, with opportunities to lead workstreams and influence technical direction.
Accountabilities:
You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and data models that support analytics and product use cases across the organization. You will ensure data quality, reliability, and performance while contributing to the evolution of a modern data platform.
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale batch and streaming data pipelines
- Develop and optimize data warehouse tables, models, and transformations for analytics and product consumption
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, observability, and performance across systems
- Participate in production support, troubleshooting, and on-call activities
- Contribute to data platform architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions
- Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields
- Strong experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines (batch and streaming)
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Postgres, DBT, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, 3NF, data vault)
- Experience with modern data platform components including ingestion, transformation, and governance
- Familiarity with observability, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and testing practices
- Experience working with diverse data sources (APIs, CRM systems, marketing/analytics platforms, JSON datasets)
- Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, lead workstreams, and operate in an agile environment
