Lead Product Designer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Product Designer based in the United States.
This is a senior, hands-on design leadership role focused on owning end-to-end product design across complex, fast-moving client engagements. You will lead the full design arc from ambiguous problem spaces through shipped products, shaping UX direction while ensuring consistency, clarity, and high-quality execution across the team. The role blends strategy, hands-on design craft, and client-facing leadership, requiring someone who can confidently guide stakeholders through uncertainty while translating business needs into intuitive product experiences. You will work closely with engineering, product, and client teams to design scalable solutions across digital, data-heavy, and connected product environments. Strong ownership, communication, and systems thinking are essential, as you will be responsible for both design direction and delivery outcomes. Accountabilities:
Responsible for leading end-to-end product design efforts across client engagements, from early discovery through delivery and launch. Sets design direction, ensures alignment across teams, and drives high-quality execution while collaborating closely with clients, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Own the full design lifecycle from problem definition through launch and iteration
- Define UX and UI direction and ensure consistency across product experiences and design teams
- Lead client-facing design engagements, including workshops, feedback sessions, and presentations
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure feasibility and high-quality implementation
- Conduct user research, discovery sessions, and usability validation activities
- Develop interactive prototypes, design systems, and data-informed product solutions
- Ensure design QA and alignment across all stages of delivery
- Guide and mentor other designers on projects without direct people management responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous requirements into structured, scalable product design solutions
- 5–7+ years of experience in product or UX/UI design roles
- Proven experience leading design work and setting direction for other designers
- Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped products and end-to-end design thinking
- Expertise in UX/UI design, interactive prototyping, and design systems
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into product decisions
- Strong communication and presentation skills with client-facing experience
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and take full ownership of outcomes
- Familiarity with data visualization and complex product environments is a plus
- Exposure to AI-enabled design workflows is strongly preferred

Requirements:
5–7+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of shipping real products in both zero-to-one and iterative environments. Strong ability to lead design direction, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving client settings.
