Job Description
This internship is for 6 months. The placement will be based in the System Engineering department based in Cairo which supports the Middle East and Africa Region. This internship is a system engineering role, based in a customer facing department.
The placement student will have the opportunity to learn about public safety systems and applications. There is also the opportunity to learn about the business processes involved in presales bidding stage and post sale implementation phase of radio projects.
There is an opportunity to complete a number of small projects for specific customers, for example, in areas such as their network coverage planning, user capacity and data throughput planning.
Main Duties of the Position
1) Conceptual and block level system design, under the supervision of the designated System Engineer. This might involve:
- Coverage design
- Traffic Capacity planning
- Third Party Equipment Specifications
- Intermodulation and Frequency Planning
- Use of System Design tools.
2) To assist in the creation of small system equipment packages which can used for repeat orders.
Basic Requirements
High School Diploma
One to Two years of college level courses towards the obtainment of a B.S. degree in Wireless, Electrical, System or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment
Experience working with customers is desirable
Experience/ Knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking is desirable.
Experience/ Knowledge of communications networks (MPLS, Ethernet, TCP/IP) is desirable
