Zuora Billing- Senior Developer

This role is a high-impact technical position focused on the design, development, and optimization of a global subscription billing platform supporting complex financial and go-to-market operations. You will take ownership of end-to-end Zuora Billing solutions, combining deep platform configuration expertise with API-led integrations and automation. Working closely with solution architects, business analysts, and engineering teams, you will translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable billing capabilities. The role requires strong hands-on engineering discipline, including testing, documentation, and production support excellence. You will also contribute to improving platform stability, billing accuracy, and operational efficiency across global processes. Accountabilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain Zuora Billing solutions, including product catalog, rate plan charges, subscriptions, amendments, invoicing, and billing logic aligned with business models.
- Develop and manage billing workflows and automation processes such as billing runs, invoice generation, dunning, and operational scheduling using platform best practices.
- Build and support API-based integrations between Zuora and enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, and data platforms, ensuring secure and scalable data flow.
- Take ownership of technical design, estimation, implementation, testing, release, and production support for billing-related changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex billing issues across configuration, data, and integrations, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.
- Support data migration and cutover activities, including mapping, validation, reconciliation, and post-deployment verification.
- Maintain high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, runbooks, configuration standards, and operational guides.
- Apply engineering discipline through peer reviews, testing standards, version control, and production readiness practices.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Zuora Billing implementation, configuration, and support in production environments.
- Strong expertise in core Zuora functionality including product catalog, subscriptions, amendments, proration, billing runs, invoicing, and financial controls.
- Solid experience with Zuora APIs (REST, Data Query) and integration patterns across CRM, ERP, and middleware platforms.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis across complex billing, data, and integration issues.
- Experience designing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and operational support materials.
- Strong understanding of billing systems, subscription models, and finance-related processes such as invoicing, reconciliation, and compliance.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot or similar) for development, documentation, and productivity enhancement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage critical production issues with strong ownership and accountability.
- Zuora certifications and experience with complex billing models (usage-based, multi-currency, renewals) are strong advantages.
