Senior Applications Engineer

Jobgether · US

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Applications Engineer based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of advanced RF engineering, system architecture, and customer-facing technical leadership. You will be responsible for designing and analyzing complex microwave measurement systems used in aerospace, defense, satellite, and wireless applications. The position combines deep technical problem-solving with hands-on system design and proposal leadership, requiring both analytical rigor and strong communication skills. You will work closely with customers, translating mission-critical requirements into viable RF system architectures and engineered solutions. In addition to technical design work, you will play a key role in shaping proposals, cost estimates, and system-level recommendations. This is a highly collaborative role where engineering expertise directly influences customer outcomes and product success in high-performance RF environments.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead system-level engineering efforts for RF and microwave measurement solutions while supporting both customer engagement and internal development initiatives. You will be responsible for turning complex technical requirements into practical, high-performance system architectures.

  • Analyze system requirements and design RF and microwave measurement solutions for aerospace, defense, and wireless applications
  • Develop system-level architectures, RF configurations, and cable diagrams to ensure technical feasibility and performance alignment
  • Evaluate RF equipment configurations and verify compliance with technical and performance requirements
  • Lead and support technical proposal development, including solution design inputs, engineering analysis, and documentation
  • Prepare cost estimates and technical recommendations for proposed systems and solutions
  • Engage directly with customer technical teams to present solutions, gather requirements, and provide engineering support
  • Contribute to internal and external technical documentation, including papers on measurement techniques and best practices
  • Support engineering work on both customer-funded programs and internal R&D initiatives
  • Requirements

This role requires deep expertise in RF systems engineering, strong analytical capability, and the ability to operate effectively in customer-facing technical environments. You should be comfortable working across disciplines and translating complex theory into applied engineering solutions.

    • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
    • 7+ years of experience in RF systems, microwave engineering, or related applications engineering roles
    • Strong background in electromagnetic theory, RF system design, and microwave communications
    • Experience with wireless, radar, and RF test methodologies and system-level design
    • Proven ability to analyze complex engineering systems and solve advanced technical problems
    • Experience working on technical proposals and engaging directly with customers or stakeholders
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
    • Familiarity with computational electromagnetics and design tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, MATLAB, GRASP, NSI2000, MI-3000) is highly desirable
    • Hands-on experience with antenna test ranges is a plus
    • Ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and customer organizations
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States and access export-controlled information
    • Benefits

      • Competitive compensation package with paid holidays and PTO
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
      • 401(k) plan with company matching
      • Health savings account (HSA) with employer contributions
      • Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
      • Life and disability insurance coverage
      • Tuition reimbursement and employee referral programs
      • Employee assistance and wellness support programs
      • Career development opportunities across a global engineering organization
      • Dynamic, fast-paced environment with high-impact technical work
