Sr. Engineering Manager

We are hiring an Senior Engineering Manager in JIA, this will play a key role in driving innovation, qualification, efficiency, and quality within the packing technology domain. Focus of your broader team will be to enhance automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement while ensuring sustainable and resilient supply chain practices.

By activetly participating in P&P innovation, qualification, and capability development initiatives, the team supports delivering efficient and high quality packing technology and packaging solutions. The department plays active role advancements in automation, digitalization, and processes.

As JIA Engineering Sr. Manager, your leadership supports strategic P&P technology development, fortifying the technology foundation for packaging operations. Through collaboration with internal R&D areas, external partners, and global production sites, the role ensures engagement on exciting innovation deployment within The LEGO Group. This position is vital in empowering the company to provide innovative, dependable, and sustainable packaging at scale.

Core responsibilities:

  • Supports shaping the technology foundation for packaging operations by leading, developing, and allocating engineering team resources to prioritized P&P activities aligned with the long-term business strategy. This includes driving the adoption of new automation tools to improve efficiency.
  • Builds and leads the Engineers Competence Center. Establishes best practices and promotes knowledge sharing. Strengthens engineering skills, nurtures a self-driven mindset, and develops technical lead competencies within the engineering group to ensure consistent execution excellence of P&P activities (e.g. skill-sharing initiatives and mentorship to foster team development).
  • Manages engineers' workload and prioritizes among P&P activities. These range from participation in technical projects and programs, platform efficiency improvement work, to new technology exploration and testing. Success is measured by the timely delivery of projects and clear adoption of new technologies across the team.
  • Defines and implements principles, standards, and processes of engineering work within P&P (e.g. implements standardized project documentation, ways of working and sets benchmark to deliver consistenly across various acitivites).
  • Closely collaborates with other leaders and key specialists in the Platform Technology team —especially with the Technology Projects Director, Platform Management Director, and the Senior Line Platform Owners group—to share insights and align strategies for continuous improvement.As well as alignment of priorities and defining Projects and activities
  • Stakeholders. Engaging stakeholders to get inputs and aligning on key activities. Specifically the Organization in Jiaxing.

Do you have what it takes?

A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (required), or equivalent strong technical experience within an engineering or production environment (required). Experience in project management, lean methodology, and work experience in technical field are essential for succeeding in this role.

  • Experience in operations and engineering, with responsibilities including innovation, qualification, efficiency, and quality within manufacturing technology.
  • Leadership experience within technical teams.
  • Collaboration skills applied to internal groups (such as production sites and global departments) and external partners (including suppliers).
  • Delivery of technical solutions in production environments.
  • Knowledge in standardizing platforms and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
